Te Atatu Tree Planting Ceremony
Te Atatu Floral and Garden Circle had a tree planting ceremony at Rutherford College on Saturday 26 May 2012. We planted a Maple tree in honour of our Life member and Patron Jocelyn Coombs.
Jocelyn was a member of our circle for 40 years. She knew everything there was to know about plants and their diseases. She was also a community educator at Rutherford College where she taught plant knowledge and landscaping. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Jocelyn’s Grandson William planted the tree, assisted by her young Great Grandson Marcel, and Velma Smith with trowel, the Patron of Te Atatu Club.
