'Clippings' was created, challenging participants as they explore new trends and ideas in the exciting world of floral art. Members who have passed a Unit test or Certificate of Practical Design are eligible to attend the workshops held two or three times a year. Two members take a turn to organise and lead the day’s programme where new designing techniques are attempted, ideas and information shared while enjoying a day of hands-on floral designing and stimulation with neighbouring floral art friends. At a workshop held during August 2008 in Ashburton the theme was ‘circles’.

Members were asked to work on a design that included a circle(s), eg a circle, a ring, a hole to look through-not a ball. There were many different ideas, materials and textures used in an interesting variety of circles innovatively incorporated into each design.

Weaving Wonders or Branching Out 2009

'Weaving Wonders' could incorporate wire, pine needles, flax, ribbon, etc or take advantage of autumn branches for ‘Branching Out’. These instructions were received prior to a ‘Clippings’ meeting in the autumn.
