Turns 50
Wyndham Floral Art Club celebrated turning 50 in late August. Planning started six months prior with eight members attending the Melbourne flower show to get inspiration and enjoy the sights of beautiful Melbourne.
Back home each month leading up to August we chose different designs from through the decades of floral art, practising them with the best designer re-creating the design for our 50th.
Janthia Holt was our guest demonstrator, even a moon boot and walking stick didn’t stop her on her first visit to the deep South. Janthia was the perfect choice, very interactive with audience, lovely designs with lots of handy techniques all making for an enjoyable afternoon.
Making the most of Janthia in the South, Wyndham 50th committee decided to acknowledge members who have been involved and contributed greatly to the club. Eight members were awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for 30 years or more.
A special presentation of a Life Membership was presented to Margaret Dumbleton. Margaret has been an active member for 46 years, hosting meetings in her home, taking workshops, opening her garden, she is always a willing member. A very worthy recipient of a Life Membership of the Wyndham Floral Art Club.
